Endometriosis is a condition where the endometrium or lining of the uterus, occurs in areas outside the uterus. These lesions vary in size from microscopic to large invasive masses that erode into underlying organs and cause extensive adhesion formation. It is usually found in the lower abdomen but has been found on the diaphragm and as far away as the lungs and brain. You can find more information on endometriosis here.
